Hawalli Hotels - Information, Reservation in Hawalli

The Hawalli district (part of the Hawalli governorate), mainly a residential area of around 80 square km with a population of around 500,000, is around 8 km south east of Kuwait City. Actually, it is one of the capital city’s first-established suburbs. The Hawalli district capital is Hawalli City.

Since 2004, Hawalli has undergone quite a lot of renovation. Older structures have been torn down and replaced by newer complexes dedicated to shopping and residential purposes – actually, unlike most other Kuwaiti areas, this specific one is full of apartment buildings.

There are a couple of highly modern shopping malls in the area; and the Muhallab Mall recently opened there.
You can also find many shops along the streets of this district, especially Tunis Street and Beirut Street. Prominently, Bin Khaldoun Street is well known as the place where you can find most computer related electronics and software for sale.
If you’re a fan of fast food, then rejoice, as after a long day of shopping you will be able to find a scattering of the usual fast food chains that are commonly dispersed throughout the world.

When there, you might want to avoid going out too early in the early morning - this is because Hawalli is the location of quite a few private schools, and you’ll probably end up getting stuck in some ugly traffic jams.

Roads can also get particularly crowded with traffic at night.

Hawalli is also home to the Al Qadsiya Sports Club, whose football stadium is famous throughout Kuwait, and many international matches are hosted there.

If you’re looking for some entertainment in the district, then you can visit Shaab Park, whose gate is in Maidan Hawalli. The entrance has recently become free of charge, and once inside, you pay for each ride individually. Its opening hours are 4pm to midnight on weekdays, and 10am to midnight on weekends. The park has quite a few restaurants within it, as well as a small ice skating rink.
